The monthly antiques and collectibles market in the heart of Scarperia, Mugello
Collezionisti in Piazza is the antiques and collectibles market that brings the historic center of Scarperia to life every first Sunday of the month, in the heart of the Mugello area, in the Province of Florence. Organized by Pro Loco Scarperia APS with the support of the Municipality of Scarperia e San Piero, the event attracts exhibitors, artisans, and enthusiasts from across Tuscany to the streets and squares of the village.
The stalls offer a wide variety of items for every type of collector and curious visitor:
Dozens of exhibitors line the route, creating an ideal opportunity for enthusiasts to trade and for visitors to hunt for curious objects at affordable prices.
The market is usually held in the historic center, around the scenic Piazza dei Vicari and the famous Palazzo dei Vicari, the symbol of Scarperia. During the warmer months, some editions move to the Public Gardens on Via Lippi, while some appointments may be held in the hamlet of Sant'Agata. The editions are enriched throughout the year with special dates, such as Easter Monday, combined with the Fiera dei 2000 Fiori, and the Christmas edition in December.
Visiting Collezionisti in Piazza is also the perfect opportunity to discover Scarperia, one of the most characteristic villages in Tuscany, founded in the 14th century and famous for its thousand-year-old tradition of knifemaking, which earned it the nickname "city of sharp blades." Between artisan workshops, the Palazzo dei Vicari, and the nearby Pieve, the market offers a day that combines vintage shopping, a cultural stroll, and authentic village atmosphere.
Thanks to its monthly frequency, Collezionisti in Piazza is one of the longest-running and most popular events on the Pro Loco Scarperia calendar: a landmark for antiques and collectibles lovers in the Florence area and throughout the Mugello region.
