Guided tour and traditional lunch in the heart of the Langhe, part of the Alba White Truffle World Market
In the heart of the Roero and Langhe regions, the Castello di Roddi dominates the village of the same name in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. The fortress, which evolved from a medieval structure and was enriched between the 14th and 18th centuries by the Falletti, Mirandola, and Della Chiesa families, is now a splendid example of fortified architecture overlooking the UNESCO-listed vineyard landscape. It is here that, every autumn, one of the most elegant events of the International Alba White Truffle Fair takes place.
The Visit and Lunch at the Castello di Roddi experience is a project by the Alba Fair Authority, designed to showcase the region through its culinary culture and hospitality. The journey begins with an exclusive guided tour of the manor, revealing its history, rooms, and the sweeping views of the surrounding hills. Immediately after, guests enter the Taste Lab, the castle's charming annex renovated with elegant contemporary touches that respect its historical roots, where the lunch is served.
At the convivial tables of the Taste Lab, a menu unfolds that draws on the best of Langhe tradition: from uovo in gabbia (egg in a cage) to tajarin pasta with butter, from slow-cooked meat courses to classic Piedmontese desserts like bonèt. Each edition is entrusted to top-tier chefs—including the multi-starred Turin native Fulvio Siccardi—who reinterpret local dishes with technique and respect for the raw ingredients. Piedmontese wines selected by Vinum, the National Wine Exhibition, are included; fresh Alba white truffle shavings, the true king of the Fair, are available separately based on the daily market price.
The event is part of the calendar for the 96th International Alba White Truffle Fair, scheduled from October 10 to December 6, 2026, an event that attracts enthusiasts and gourmets from all over the world to the Langhe every year. Visiting the Castello di Roddi and dining there means experiencing the truffle not just as a product, but as part of an entire culture of landscape, wine, and Piedmontese hospitality.
