A new festival on the Etruscan Coast

The Tuscan Specialties Festival arrives for the first time in Donoratico, a bustling village in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, in the province of Livorno, in the heart of the Etruscan Coast. This debut edition is scheduled for the first weekend of May 2026, from Friday, May 1st to Sunday, May 3rd, in the familiar setting of the Parco delle Sughere, the green space on Via Vecchia Aurelia that hosts the town's long season of gastronomic festivals throughout the summer.

The flavors of Tuscan tradition

As the name suggests, the festival is a journey through the typical dishes of Tuscan cuisine—the simple, generous food of village celebrations. The menu features traditional appetizers, savory pasta dishes prepared according to old-fashioned recipes, and delicious grilled meats cooked over charcoal. It is a selection designed for those looking to rediscover the authentic flavors of the Livorno hinterland, accompanied by local wines from one of Tuscany's most renowned wine-producing regions.

Hours and atmosphere

The Parco delle Sughere opens its kitchens twice a day: for lunch starting at 12:30 PM and for dinner from 7:30 PM, throughout all three days of the event. The open-air environment of the park, located at the entrance to Donoratico and just minutes from the beach in Marina di Castagneto, offers the classic vibe of Tuscan festivals: communal tables, a family-friendly atmosphere, and the warm hospitality of the local associations and the Pro Loco, who have been bringing life to local events for years.
