The autumn Törggelen festival in the historic courtyard of Ansitz Gaudententurm in Tel, Parcines
The Törggelefest at Ansitz Gaudententurm is the autumn highlight that transforms the historic courtyard of Ansitz Gaudententurm, in the village of Tel (Töll) within the municipality of Parcines/Partschins, into a festive celebration of South Tyrol's most beloved tradition: Törggelen. Set in the residence's nostalgic garden, surrounded by ancient walls and trees painted in autumn colors, the event draws locals and visitors from the Burgraviato for a day of authentic seasonal flavors.
Törggelen is a rural custom that, as the first cold weather arrives, pairs the tasting of new wine with roasted chestnuts and traditional mountain dishes. At the Gaudententurm Törggelefest, this tradition comes to life with chestnuts roasted over an open fire, the estate's own home-grown wines (Eigenbauwein), and the classic South Tyrolean Marende—a hearty snack featuring speck, local cheeses, farmhouse bread, and other regional products. To complete the atmosphere, traditional folk music (Stimmungsmusik) accompanies guests throughout the event.
One of the most distinctive features of the festival is the guided tours of the distillery at Ansitz Gaudententurm, home to the Gaudenz Hofbrennerei & Weingut, an agricultural estate with an artisanal distillery operating in the ancient courtyard of the Gaudenz Tower. The event often coincides with the Open Grappa Distillery Day, offering a unique opportunity to discover the art of distillation and the estate's products up close.
The Törggelefest is organized by the Volunteer Fire Brigade of Tel (Freiwillige Feuerwehr Töll), who manage the hospitality and catering. Admission is free and no reservation is required. The event takes place in the Trentino-Alto Adige region, in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, and is a delicious stop for anyone visiting the Parcines, Rablà, and Tel area during the autumn season.
On Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the nostalgic garden of Ansitz Gaudententurm in Tel, Parcines, will host the 2026 edition of the Törggelefest.
