Four days of Emilian flavors and patronal celebrations at the Ciapei Sports Center in Rivarossa
Tigelle and gnocco fritto are two icons of the Emilian culinary tradition, but for several years now, they have also found a home in Rivarossa, a small town in the Province of Turin, in the heart of the Piedmontese Canavese. The tigella is a disc-shaped flatbread made with flour, water, lard, and yeast, cooked between hot plates; the gnocco fritto is a soft, crispy deep-fried dough. Both are best enjoyed with cold cuts and cheeses in a convivial setting that brings everyone together.
The Tigelle and Gnocco Fritto Festival takes place at the Ciapei Sports Center, in Piazza A. Mussetta in Rivarossa. The 2026 edition is scheduled from Thursday, July 16th to Sunday, July 19th, with doors open from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM. An important update: this year the event coincides with the Patronal Feast dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene, whose liturgical feast day falls on July 22nd, blending local village traditions with gastronomic delights.
The heart of the festival is the all-you-can-eat format: for a fixed price, you can enjoy unlimited tigelle and gnocco fritto, served with cold cuts, cheeses, and side dishes (drinks excluded). Dinner is organized in two evening shifts, at 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM, and reservations are mandatory. The food stand is managed by A.P.S. Rivarossese, the social promotion association that organizes the entire event.
Beyond the table, the festival offers a packed entertainment calendar: musical evenings with DJs, Latin dancing, 90s and 2000s revivals, a photography exhibition, wellness moments, and activities for children. For families, there is a free kids' zone with games, face painting, entertainment, and access to the center's sports fields (5-a-side football, basketball, beach volleyball). The Sunday closing honors tradition with mass and a procession in honor of the patron saint, followed by a vintage car parade.
Among the many summer events in Piedmont, the Rivarossa Tigelle and Gnocco Fritto Festival stands out for its authentic, family-friendly spirit: a village feast that combines the conviviality of good food, evening fun, and popular devotion. It is the perfect opportunity to discover a lesser-known corner of the Canavese and enjoy two Emilian delicacies under the summer stars.
The 2026 edition combines the gastronomic festival with the Patronal Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene for the first time, moving the event to July instead of the usual late August period. Four evenings at the Ciapei Sports Center with unlimited tigelle and gnocco fritto, musical entertainment, and activities for the whole family.
Throughout the festival: free kids' zone with games, face painting, entertainment, and sports fields (5-a-side football, basketball, beach volleyball). Open from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
Rivarossa is located in the Canavese area, in the Province of Turin. By car, it can be reached via the SP13; from Turin, follow the route towards Caselle and Ciriè (about 30 minutes). The festival takes place at the Ciapei Sports Center, in Piazza A. Mussetta.
Open from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Dinner served in two shifts: 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM.
Dinner reservations are mandatory by calling +39 347 6672576 or +39 347 3836826.
Entry to the area and the kids' zone is free; you only pay for the all-you-can-eat menu (drinks excluded). Booking in advance is recommended, especially for the weekend.
