The food and wine exhibition in Fucecchio, in the heart of Tuscany
The Taste Fair is one of the most beloved food and wine events in Fucecchio, a town in the lower Valdarno area in the province of Florence, bordering the Cerbaie hills. Every year, on April 25th, the historic center comes alive with a large market exhibition dedicated to typical Tuscan products, drawing visitors from across the Cuoio and Empolese-Valdelsa districts.
The heart of the event is Piazza Montanelli, which, along with the streets of the center, hosts producers' stalls. From early morning throughout the day, you can stroll among stands featuring traditional Tuscan cured meats, cheeses, wines, pastries, and artisanal specialties. Alongside the food and wine displays, there is an artisanal market, while the shops of the Natural Shopping Center remain open for the occasion, further enlivening the day.
Among the most characteristic traditions is the 'zuccherino' preparation competition, the typical Fucecchio pastry associated with the Carnival period. The challenge, open to all enthusiasts who register through the Pro Loco, has become a symbol of the fair over the years. There are also taste workshops, show cooking sessions, and educational moments curated by Slow Food, dedicated to ancient flavors and local culinary traditions, with a special focus on the region's biodiversity, from the Cerbaie truffles to seasonal products.
Promoted by Pro Loco Fucecchio APS with the patronage of the Municipality of Fucecchio, the Taste Fair is much more than a market: it is a village festival that combines gastronomy, craftsmanship, and social life. Falling on April 25th, a national holiday, it represents the perfect opportunity for a day trip in Tuscany, amidst tastings, street food, and the lively atmosphere of Fucecchio's center.
For the twentieth year, the Taste Fair enlivened the center of Fucecchio on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9:00 AM throughout the day. Piazza Montanelli and the streets of the center hosted a market exhibition dedicated to Tuscan cured meats, wines, cheeses, and local traditional pastries.
Alongside the food and wine stalls, an artisanal market took place, and the shops of the Natural Shopping Center opened exceptionally. Among the highlights was the 'zuccherino' competition, now in its fourth consecutive edition, dedicated to the typical Fucecchio pastry of the Carnival. In the afternoon, taste workshops curated by Slow Food were held, focusing on Cerbaie truffles and seasonal products.
