Over thirty years of trout, music, and celebration on the Reghena
In Bagnarola, a hamlet of Sesto al Reghena in the province of Pordenone, one of the most beloved gastronomic festivals in western Friuli has been celebrated since 1991: the Sagra della Trota. The absolute star is trout, farmed and prepared in all its variations: pรขtรฉ, gnocchi, smoked trout, hunter-style trout, and mixed grill, accompanied by local wines, beer, and specialties from the food stalls. On weekends, spit-roasted chicken is also available, among the most requested dishes.
In addition to gastronomy, the Sagra della Trota is famous for its rich musical program. Evenings feature traditional Friulian and Venetian dance bands, free concerts by well-known Italian performers, and the Kiosc'on youth area, open every evening with cocktails, music, guests, and DJ sets. Among the cult events are the Trototom reggae festival and themed evenings.
With over thirty years of history and around twelve thousand visitors per edition, the Sagra della Trota is a landmark event in the Pordenone festival calendar. Organized by the local associations of Bagnarola, it is the result of the work of hundreds of volunteers who transform the hamlet into a grand celebration each year.
The festival takes place in the municipality of Sesto al Reghena, famous for its Benedictine abbey of Santa Maria in Sylvis, one of Friuli's most important monuments. This setting combines popular celebration with the charm of a territory rich in history and nature, along the course of the Reghena river.
The 2026 edition, the 34th, of the Sagra della Trota di Bagnarola runs from May 22 to June 7 with a packed program blending gastronomy, music, and fun for all ages. The star is trout, offered as pรขtรฉ, gnocchi, smoked, hunter-style, and grilled, with spit-roasted chicken on weekends.
The stage features big dance bands, while the Kiosc'on youth area livens up every evening with cocktails, DJ sets, and guests. Among the highlights are the free concert by Cristina D'Avena and the Trototom reggae festival, now in its 15th edition.
