The wild boar festival in Medio Friuli

Among the most established festivals in the Friulian plain is the Sagra di Zompicchia, which every year in June enlivens the hamlet of the same name in Codroipo, in the heart of Medio Friuli. It is known to everyone as La Cinghialata, for the dish that has become its symbol: the menu based on wild boar, prepared according to tradition and served at the stalls along with grilled meats and other specialties.

Ten days of celebration at the sports field

For about ten days, the Zompicchia sports field becomes the hub of the community: large covered areas, parking, and food stalls welcome families and visitors every evening. In addition to wild boar, the cuisine offers grilled meats, traditional dishes, and a wide selection to eat on-site or take away, in a cheerful and convivial atmosphere.

Sports, music, and themed evenings

La Cinghialata is not just about food: the program alternates sports tournaments (men's and women's football, children's football, softair arena), live music evenings with bands and tribute concerts, special themed evenings, and community initiatives. A formula that combines sport, fun, and good food, making the festival a highly anticipated event for the whole village.

A tradition of the Pro Loco

Organized by the Pro Loco Zompicchia, the festival has a history spanning several decades and is a living part of the identity of the hamlet of Codroipo. Visiting it means discovering the authentic spirit of Friuli Venezia Giulia's village festivals, where volunteers and residents get involved to offer days of celebration open to all.
