Perch risotto by the lake, with the Alpini of Pescate
In the municipality of Pescate, in the province of Lecco, the Sagra del Risotto is one of the summer's gastronomic highlights. It takes place at Parco Le Torrette, on the lakefront where the Adda river flows out of Lake Lecco. The event is organized by the Gruppo Alpini di Pescate (the local Alpini group), who also use it as an opportunity for solidarity: in some editions, the proceeds have been donated to charity, such as for earthquake victims in Central Italy or flood victims in Romagna.
The signature dish is risotto with perch, a fish once abundant in the waters of Lake Lecco and a staple of Larian cuisine. The festival menu also features radicchio risotto and a range of local specialties: missoltini (dried agone fish typical of the lake), sausages, grilled vegetables, platters of cured meats and cheeses, and french fries.
The festival, traditionally held on the last weekend of August, combines good food with the picturesque lakeside setting of Pescate. It's a popular event, attracting families and tourists from Lake Como, and a moment of community gathering for the local population.
The event is managed by the Gruppo Alpini di Pescate, active in the town's life and in volunteer work. The Sagra del Risotto is one of the initiatives that best embodies the Alpini spirit of service, conviviality, and attachment to the territory, right here in the heart of the province of Lecco.
In 2026, the Gruppo Alpini di Pescate will again organize the Sagra del Risotto at Parco Le Torrette, on the lakefront, on the last weekend of August. The menu that has made the festival famous remains confirmed: perch risotto, radicchio risotto, missoltini, sausages, grilled vegetables, and platters of cured meats and cheeses.
The exact date and full menu for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Gruppo Alpini di Pescate in the weeks prior. The typical structure of the festival includes:
