Garlate goes back in time through its ancient courtyards
The Festa delle Corti is the event that every year, at the beginning of September, brings the village of Garlate (Province of Lecco) back to life as it once was. The courtyards and streets of the historic centre, overlooking Lake Garlate, transform into a large open-air theatre where costumed characters, stories, and crafts tell the story of life in the past.
The programme enhances the identity of the territory, which has always been linked to the processing of silk, remembered in the local Silk Museum:
The festival concludes on Sunday evening with a fireworks display on the lake, the most anticipated moment of the event. An event that strengthens the sense of community and celebrates the historical and artisanal roots of Garlate and the Lecchese Brianza.
The official website confirms the 32nd edition of the Festa delle Corti, but currently does not yet publish the exact dates for 2026. Historically, the event is held on the first weekend of September, spread over Saturday and Sunday. The detailed programme, with the times for guided tours, workshops, and the final fireworks display, will be announced in the weeks preceding the event.
The detailed programme for the 2026 edition will be published on the official website in the weeks preceding the event. Based on past editions, the festival generally includes:
Garlate is located in the province of Lecco, on the southern shore of Lake Garlate, accessible from the SS36 and the SP72. The festival takes place in the historic centre, which is pedestrianised during the event.
Free admission. Guided tours of the courtyards are free.
