A journey into Garlate's past

The Festa delle Corti is the event that every year, at the beginning of September, brings the village of Garlate (Province of Lecco) back to life as it once was. The courtyards and streets of the historic centre, overlooking Lake Garlate, transform into a large open-air theatre where costumed characters, stories, and crafts tell the story of life in the past.

Crafts, flavours, and traditions

The programme enhances the identity of the territory, which has always been linked to the processing of silk, remembered in the local Silk Museum:

• Artisans and ancient crafts in the village courtyards;
• Traditional silk processing at the Silk Museum;
• Grape treading and dialect games;
• Workshops for children, jugglers, and entertainment;
• Historic signs reconstructing ancient shops (cobbler, baker, fabric shop);
• Traditional street food, including the famous "tortelli di Maria";
• Free guided tours of the courtyards.

The grand finale

The festival concludes on Sunday evening with a fireworks display on the lake, the most anticipated moment of the event. An event that strengthens the sense of community and celebrates the historical and artisanal roots of Garlate and the Lecchese Brianza.
