The Sagra della Castagna is the traditional autumn festival of Erve, the least populated municipality in the Valle San Martino, in the province of Lecco, in the heart of the pre-Alpine Lombardy. Every October, the small village dresses up to celebrate the fruit that symbolises the season and its woods: the chestnut.
A Programme Focused on Taste
The event, organised by Pro Erve, offers a lunch based on dishes featuring chestnuts as the main ingredient, served from 12:30 PM. In the afternoon, there will be the unmissable caldarroste (roasted chestnuts), accompanied by mulled wine, while artisan markets and stalls selling local products wind through the village streets. The day is marked by music and moments of conviviality that attract visitors from neighbouring towns.
Amidst the Woods of the Valle San Martino
More than just a food festival, the event is an opportunity to discover Erve and its territory: a mountain municipality surrounded by chestnut groves and trails, a starting point for excursions towards the Resegone and the Valle San Martino.
