A week of faith, music, and conviviality in the hamlet of Colle Brianza
In the hamlet of Ravellino, within the municipality of Colle Brianza in the province of Lecco, the Sagra di San Rocco is the most important event of the summer. It takes place around August 16th, the feast day of the saint invoked against epidemics and diseases, and extends for about a week straddling Ferragosto, blending religious observance with convivial celebration.
The schedule alternates between religious services and festive events: the evening procession to the chapel with the blessing of the fields, the Ferragosto mass with the blessing of vehicles and the release of balloons, the San Rocco day with the distribution of blessed bread and the traditional blessing of domestic animals, and the solemn afternoon mass with a procession. The week concludes with a mass in suffrage of the deceased.
Alongside the religious rites, the evenings are enlivened by live music and orchestras, with bar and catering services offering typical local specialities. It is a time when the community of Ravellino comes together, between prayer and merriment.
The sagra is organised by the Real PST Brianza association in collaboration with the parish and the Municipality of Colle Brianza. More than just a patron saint's festival, it is a gathering event that keeps alive the traditions of a small hamlet in the Lecchese Brianza region.
In 2026, the hamlet of Ravellino will again celebrate San Rocco during Ferragosto week. The festival, organised by the Real PST Brianza association with the parish and the Municipality of Colle Brianza, confirms its tried-and-tested formula: moments of spirituality (processions, masses, blessing of domestic animals) alternating with evenings of live music, food, and socialising.
The detailed programme for the 2026 edition will be released by Real PST Brianza and the parish in the weeks preceding the event. The typical structure, following recent years, includes:
Definitive dates and times will be announced on the association's and parish's channels.
The animal blessing on August 16th and the procession with the saint's statue are the most characteristic moments of the sagra.
