A festival that tastes of Carnia summer

In Cavazzo Carnico, in the heart of Carnia and a stone's throw from the Lago dei Tre Comuni, the end of summer has a distinct flavour: the golden, crispy taste of fried panzerotto. The Sagra del Panzerotto, which in 2026 will reach its 22nd edition, is one of the most anticipated events in the village, organised with dedication by ASD Cavazzo, a historic local sports club founded in 1958.

The panzerotto, the absolute star

The heart of the festival are the food stalls set up in the area around the town hall, where the panzerotto is prepared and fried on the spot and served at crowded tables. Alongside the specialty that gives the festival its name, there are other offerings from Friulian and Carnic cuisine, accompanied by local wines. The stalls open at 6:00 PM.

Music and fun over two weekends

The Sagra del Panzerotto has an unusual and generous duration: it is spread over two weekends, straddling the end of July and the beginning of August, ensuring more evenings of celebration. The programme alternates dance orchestras, DJ sets, and entertainment moments, in a convivial and family-friendly atmosphere typical of Carnia festivals.

Cavazzo Carnico is an ideal base for discovering Carnia in the summer, between the waters of the Lago dei Tre Comuni—the largest natural lake in Friuli—and the trails of the surrounding mountains. The festival, which slightly precedes the patronal feast of San Rocco on August 16th, is the perfect opportunity to combine good food, music, and alpine nature.
