The stuffed focaccias with Apples in over thirty variations
The Sagra dei Fugassin (or Sagra dรผ Fรปgassin) is the most characteristic gastronomic festival in Mele, a municipality in the hinterland of the metropolitan city of Genoa. The protagonist is the fugassin, a stuffed focaccia typical of the territory, offered in over thirty different variations.
The secret of the festival is precisely the variety: from savory to sweet fillings, the fugassin are prepared in dozens of versions, the result of the tradition and creativity of the local community. A rich and original gastronomic offering, which attracts curious and greedy people from all over the area.
The event is organized by the Confraternity of Sant'Antonio Abate of Mele and takes place at the relevant Oratory. In addition to good food, the festival offers music, dancing, and entertainment, in a festive atmosphere that combines gastronomy and social life in the heart of the Genoese hinterland.
The 2026 edition of the Sagra dei Fugassin enlivens Mele from Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14, at the Oratory of Sant'Antonio Abate. The stars are the fugassin, the famous stuffed focaccias, offered in over thirty sweet and savory variations.
Alongside the tasting, the festival offers music, dancing, and entertainment. The organization is handled by the Confraternity of Sant'Antonio Abate of Mele.
