The Giornate Voltresi del Mare is one of the most cherished events of the summer in western Genoa. The festival takes place in Voltri, a maritime district at the western end of the city, and celebrates the community's deep connection with the sea on the occasion of Saint John the Baptist. The heart of the festival is between Piazza Odicini and the Passeggiata Bruzzone, Voltri's seafront promenade. Here, a craft and hobby market, food stalls with Ligurian specialties and traditional focaccini, and live music evenings come to life. There is also a charity raffle, underlining the event's spirit of solidarity.

Traditions and spectacle

Among the most characteristic moments are the TUTTIinMARE canoeing event, the Confuoco on the Leira stream – the traditional bonfire linked to the Saint John's festival – and the fireworks display over the sea, which illuminates Voltri's sky, offering a spectacular finale.
