The Mostra Mercato dello Zafferano di Cascia celebrates one of the agri-food excellences of Umbria: the purest saffron of Cascia, grown on the lands of the Valnerina valley, in the province of Perugia. The event, organised by the Associazione Produttori Zafferano Purissimo di Cascia (Association of Pure Saffron Producers of Cascia), brings together growers and enthusiasts in the historic centre of the village around a high-quality product, the result of a carefully managed supply chain and entirely manual harvesting.

Market, tastings, and show cooking

The heart of the event is the producers' market, where you can buy saffron and local products, alongside tastings, show cooking, and gastronomic offerings that highlight the spice in numerous recipes. There are also thematic conferences, educational workshops, music, and entertainment.

Among the most evocative experiences are the visits to the saffron fields, which allow you to discover the cultivation and flowering of "crocus sativus" up close.
