The Sagra del Marrone is the great autumn festival of Miranda, a hilly hamlet of the municipality of Terni nestled in woods and chestnut groves. For many editions, the event has celebrated the marrone (chestnut), the prized chestnut that the village's chestnut trees produce every year, in a festival that combines taste, tradition, and territorial enhancement.
Roasted Chestnuts, Desserts, and Wine
The heart of the sagra are the food stands set up in the village square: from roasted chestnuts (caldarroste) to chestnut desserts, accompanied by good local wine. The festival is also an opportunity to rediscover Miranda and its territory, amidst nature, authentic flavours, and hospitality.
A Community Tradition
Organized by the Pro Loco of Miranda, the Sagra del Marrone is a historic event that involves the entire community and attracts visitors from all over the province of Terni. Music accompanies the festive days, with stands selling roasted chestnuts and desserts open until the evening, in a convivial atmosphere typical of Umbrian autumn sagre.

For autumn 2026, the Sagra del Marrone renews its appointment in Miranda, a hamlet of the municipality of Terni. The food stands featuring roasted chestnuts, chestnut desserts, and good local wine will be back, in a festival that celebrates the products of the chestnut groves and the hilly territory of Terni.
