The chamber music season of the Gargano, featuring classical, jazz, and world traditions
InConcerto is the International Music Festival of San Giovanni Rotondo, a town in the Gargano area of the Province of Foggia, in Puglia. Born from the dedication of the Duo Caputo Pompilio Musical Association and artistically directed by Maestro Luciano Pompilio, the event has grown over more than twenty years to become a benchmark for chamber music in Southern Italy. In 2026, the festival celebrates its 22nd edition.
Unlike many festivals concentrated into a few days, InConcerto unfolds throughout the entire season, from May to December, with sixteen concert appointments. The program is intentionally eclectic, spanning various genres and traditions: from classical music to jazz, from Portuguese fado to Argentine tango, as well as Sephardic music and iconic film soundtracks. This variety is the hallmark of the festival, designed for a curious audience and to introduce classical music to those who do not attend it regularly.
The concerts take place in some of the city's most evocative spaces. The heart of the festival is the Church of Sant'Orsola, with its intimate acoustics, but the program also reaches the Maria Pyle Auditorium and the Conference Hall of Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza, the hospital founded by Padre Pio, which is now one of the city's symbols.
Some evenings of the festival are accompanied by food and wine tastings, organized in collaboration with Slow Food Gargano, to combine listening to music with the excellence of the territory in a unique sensory experience. It is a way to promote local products and keep the audience engaged after the final applause in a convivial atmosphere.
InConcerto is supported by the Puglia Region, the Municipality of San Giovanni Rotondo, and local entities such as the Credito Cooperativo, testifying to how deeply rooted the festival is in the city's cultural life. Every year, the festival attracts artists from all over Europe and the world, offering a town in the Gargano a truly international program.
The 22nd edition of InConcerto confirms the formula that has made the festival a highly anticipated event: sixteen concerts spread from May to December 2026, with the Church of Sant'Orsola as the main venue. The program ranges from great classical music to jazz, from Portuguese fado to Argentine tango, to Sephardic music and film soundtracks. The artistic direction of Maestro Luciano Pompilio confirms again this year the collaboration with Slow Food Gargano for the tastings that accompany some evenings.
The program continues until December with the other appointments of the season, featuring chamber music, jazz, and world repertoires. The complete and updated calendar is published on the official website of the Duo Caputo Pompilio Musical Association.
The concerts are held in San Giovanni Rotondo (FG), primarily in the Church of Sant'Orsola, as well as at the Maria Pyle Auditorium and the Conference Hall of Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza.
