About Blu Festival

The Zapponeta Blu Festival is the premier summer event in the small coastal town of Zapponeta, in the province of Foggia, overlooking the Adriatic between the Tavoliere delle Puglie and the Gargano. Launched in 2024 and promoted by the Municipality, the festival features free concerts by major Italian music stars, food and wine festivals dedicated to local produce and fresh fish, tasting trails, and cultural events. A wide-ranging program running from July to September that celebrates the sea, the Blue Flag status, and the authentic identity of this corner of Puglia.

A summer festival by the sea

The Zapponeta Blu Festival is the flagship summer event in Zapponeta, a small coastal town in the province of Foggia, Puglia, nestled on the Adriatic where the Tavoliere delle Puglie meets the Gargano. Promoted and organized by the Municipality of Zapponeta, the festival is a diverse collection of events that accompanies residents and visitors throughout the summer, from July to September, with a clear common thread: to showcase the sea, culture, traditions, and local gastronomy of the area.

Music, flavors, and identity

The heart of the festival is its extensive program of free concerts, which over the years has brought some of the most beloved names in Italian and Neapolitan music to the main square. Alongside the concerts, the festival offers the town's most anticipated food and wine festivals, including the historic Local Produce Festival and the Fish Festival, as well as tasting trails like VINcanto Estate, dedicated to products grown in the sandy coastal soils and local seafood specialties.

Zapponeta is a young municipality that gained autonomy in the 1970s, and in 2025, the festival celebrated a special edition for the 50th anniversary of municipal autonomy. For several consecutive years, the town has been awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of its beaches and sea, an identity element that gives the festival its very name.

The editions

The inaugural edition in 2024 featured guests such as Enrico Ruggeri, James Senese, LDA, Angelo Famao, and Nello Daniele. The 2025 edition, dedicated to the town's 50th anniversary, expanded the program with concerts by Gigi Finizio, Enzo Avitabile, Eugenio Bennato, Mietta, and Simone Cristicchi. For 2026, the Municipality has confirmed the third edition, which was also presented at the International Tourism Exchange (BIT) in Milan.

An event for the whole town

The festival transforms Zapponeta's historic center and seafront into an open-air stage: concerts in the square, food stalls, shows, and events designed for all ages, from families to young people. The free format and the atmosphere of a town overlooking the Adriatic make it one of the most genuine summer offerings in the Foggia area.

Blu Festival — edition 2026

The third edition of the Zapponeta Blu Festival has been confirmed by the Municipality of Zapponeta, which presented the event at the International Tourism Exchange (BIT) in Milan in February 2026, with the participation of local artist Nicola Di Bari. As in previous editions, the festival will take place throughout the summer with free concerts, food and wine festivals, and events dedicated to the sea and traditions. The exact dates and detailed program for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced.

Zapponeta Blu Festival 2026 — third edition

The Municipality of Zapponeta has confirmed the third edition of the Zapponeta Blu Festival for summer 2026, including it as a central element of its tourism promotion strategy. The event was presented at the BIT in Milan in February 2026, where Mayor Vincenzo Riontino highlighted Zapponeta's position as a natural link between the Tavoliere delle Puglie and the Gargano, alongside fellow citizen Nicola Di Bari.

The now-established format includes a wide-ranging program from July to September featuring free concerts, traditional food and wine festivals (from the Local Produce Festival to the Fish Festival), and tasting trails along the seafront.

The exact dates and the program with the artists for the 2026 edition have not yet been released: they will be published on the festival's official channels in the weeks leading up to the event.
