The Tavoliere's celebration of reading, held at Palazzo Fornari
The Cerignola Book, Publishing and Journalism Fair has become one of the most anticipated cultural events in the city and the entire Province of Foggia. Established in 2010 by the social promotion association Oltre Babele APS, the event has grown year after year to become a true festival dedicated to books, viewed as the primary tool for communication and human connection.
The heart of the fair is Palazzo Fornari, located in the Piano delle Fosse area within Cerignola's historic center: an evocative venue that, for three days, fills with stands, bookstores, publishing houses, and readers of all ages. Here, national authors and voices from Italian journalism take turns in presentations, while the courtyards and halls come alive with performances, musical moments, and exhibitions.
The strength of the Cerignola Book Fair lies in its multidisciplinary nature. Alongside meetings with writers, you will find:
A special place is reserved for the Memorial Pia Patruno literary contest, which has grown over the years to involve authors and enthusiasts, featuring its own regulations and an awards ceremony during the fair.
The event is entirely conceived, organized, and executed by volunteers, led by president Margherita Cinquepalmi. Admission is free, and the event is also supported by public donations, which are reinvested into the fair's activities. The Book Fair is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Cerignola, the Apulia Region, and the Fondazione Monti Uniti di Foggia.
Whether you are an avid reader, a curious visitor, or simply a tourist exploring the Tavoliere, the Cerignola Book Fair is the perfect opportunity to discover the cultural and vibrant side of this city in the Capitanata region.
