The Grigliata Insieme is much more than just an outdoor dinner: it is a moment when the community of Sieci, a village in the municipality of Pontassieve in the province of Florence, gathers around the grill to support those who serve the local area every day. The event is organized by the Val di Sieci Section of the SMS-PA Croce Azzurra Pontassieve, the public assistance service that has been providing emergency and medical transport in the Arno and Sieve valleys for years.

All proceeds from the event have a specific and tangible goal: to contribute to the renewal of the association's vehicle fleet. Participating in the barbecue means enjoying a delicious meal while providing concrete support to an essential service for the entire area.

Where it takes place

The event is held at the Croce Azzurra headquarters in Piazza Sergio Chiari, in the heart of Sieci, within an equipped area that transforms into a large, convivial outdoor space every year. The village, nestled along the Arno river at the gateway to the Florentine Valdarno and Mugello regions, provides the perfect setting for a summer evening with friends and family.

What to eat

The menu highlights Tuscan culinary traditions, with a special focus on charcoal-grilled dishes. It starts with summer appetizers, followed by homemade first courses like tagliatelle with meat sauce and tricolor spelt salad, leading up to the star of the show: the grill, featuring a 500-gram steak, mixed grilled meats, and a barbecue platter for two.

The shift-based system and mandatory reservations ensure a well-organized experience, while free parking makes it easy for guests arriving from the nearby towns of Pontassieve, Pelago, and Rignano sull'Arno. It is a simple, authentic opportunity to experience local spirit and support volunteer work.
