About Gragnano City of Pasta

Gragnano City of Pasta is a major food and wine festival that transforms the historic center of Gragnano, near Naples, into a culinary journey dedicated to the famous PGI Gragnano Pasta every September. Promoted by the Consortium for the Protection of Gragnano Pasta in collaboration with the local municipality and the Campania Region, the event features tastings, showcooking, Michelin-starred chefs, workshops, talks, and live performances. The 2026 edition, scheduled from September 11th to 13th under the theme MONDOPASTA!, explores the dialogue between Gragnano pasta and global cuisines.

The PGI Gragnano Pasta Festival

Gragnano City of Pasta is the annual event held every September to celebrate the city's iconic product: PGI Gragnano Pasta. For three days, the historic center of Gragnano, nestled in the Lattari Mountains near Naples, becomes a vibrant food trail where tastings, shows, music, and culture showcase a tradition rooted in centuries of pasta-making artistry.

MONDOPASTA! — The 2026 Edition

The 2026 edition, taking place from September 11th to 13th, is dedicated to the theme MONDOPASTA!: pasta as a universal language that transcends borders and cultures. Along the festival route, Michelin-starred chefs, traditional masters, and international cooks present dishes that blend diverse ingredients, techniques, and cultures, in collaboration with the Food Anthropology Laboratory. The historic center turns into an international itinerary filled with installations, scenic designs, music, and performances inspired by countries that have made pasta a staple of their culinary traditions.

The Pastaporto and Pasta Hub

A new feature for 2026 is the Pastaporto, an official event passport that guides visitors along the tasting route, allowing them to collect stamps from various culinary stops. The Pasta Hub serves as a space for meetings and talks on the role of food in contemporary society, featuring debates such as "Pasta in the world. The world in pasta," covering food migration, hybrid cuisines, and international markets.

Music, Entertainment, and Culture

The city streets come alive with the World Music Stage, featuring afrobeat, cumbia, reggae, Balkan brass bands, and city pop, alongside street performers, batucada drummers, and dancers. The event also hosts the "Gragnano City of Pasta" Cultural Award and special initiatives, including a commemorative stamp dedicated to PGI Gragnano Pasta and a scholarship awarded to Intercultura for international youth exchanges.

A Symbol of Campania

Organized by the Consortium for the Protection of PGI Gragnano Pasta in partnership with the Municipality of Gragnano and the Campania Region, the festival is a must-attend event for food lovers and those eager to discover one of the most celebrated icons of "Made in Italy," set in an authentic location just a short distance from Naples, Pompeii, and the Amalfi Coast.

Gragnano City of Pasta — edition 2026

The 24th edition of Gragnano City of Pasta takes place from September 11th to 13th, 2026, with the theme MONDOPASTA!, dedicated to pasta as a universal language connecting cuisines worldwide. In the historic center of Gragnano, Michelin-starred chefs, international cooks, tastings, the new Pastaporto, the Pasta Hub, the World Music Stage, and street performers bring three days of flavor and culture to life.

2026 Edition — MONDOPASTA!

The 2026 edition of Gragnano City of Pasta, scheduled from September 11th to 13th, is dedicated to the theme MONDOPASTA!: a gastronomic journey across continents that tells the story of how pasta has become a star in kitchens around the world. Michelin-starred chefs, traditional masters, and international cooks offer dishes that weave together different cultures and techniques, in collaboration with the Food Anthropology Laboratory.

Among the highlights is the Pastaporto, the event passport used to collect stamps along the various tasting itineraries. The Pasta Hub hosts talks and conversations on the role of food in society, while the World Music Stage features afrobeat, cumbia, reggae, Balkan brass bands, and city pop, accompanied by street performers, batucada drummers, and dancers. The event also includes the "Gragnano City of Pasta" Cultural Award and a commemorative stamp dedicated to PGI Gragnano Pasta.
