Wine, traditional cuisine, and entertainment through the streets of Boscoreale, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Vesuvius Wine, Flavors and Knowledge Festival is one of the most anticipated food and wine events in the Vesuvius area. Each year, between late summer and autumn, the historic center of Boscoreale, in the province of Naples, transforms into a vibrant trail of taste and tradition, drawing thousands of visitors from across Campania. The town's streets and squares fill with stalls, aromas, and music to celebrate the culture of wine and the bounty of the Vesuvius land.
The absolute star of the show is Vesuvius wine, particularly the renowned Lacryma Christi in its white, red, and rosé varieties. Grapes grown on the volcanic soils of the mountain slopes produce wines with a unique character, which are showcased here through tastings organized in collaboration with local producers and AIS Vesuvius sommeliers. Alongside the wine, visitors can discover the flavors of Vesuvius cuisine: traditional dishes, local products, and specialties prepared along the food and wine trail.
The festival's name intentionally combines flavors with knowledge: beyond gastronomy, the event highlights traditional trades, local crafts, and historic games, offering a journey into the memory and identity of the territory. The opening night is traditionally dedicated to this "Vesuvius knowledge," featuring cultural moments and performances that immerse the public in the festival's atmosphere.
The event's soundtrack is provided by folk music—featuring tammurriate, paranze, and traveling bands from the Vesuvius tradition—and live performances that keep the squares lively until late at night. Each edition concludes with a major concert in Piazza Pace, the beating heart of the festival, which turns the center of Boscoreale into an open-air stage.
The festival is organized by the Il Nuovo Vesuvio Cultural Association, with the support of the Municipality of Boscoreale, and has established itself over the years as a true showcase for the territory and its excellence. With free admission, a focus on sustainability, and deep roots in the local community, the event is an unmissable appointment for anyone wanting to experience the food and wine culture of the Vesuvius region of Campania.
The Vesuvius Wine, Flavors and Knowledge Festival is expected to return to Boscoreale, in the province of Naples, in 2026. In recent editions, the festival has taken place between September and October in the town's historic center, featuring tastings of Lacryma Christi and Vesuvius wines, food stalls, local crafts, and concerts in Piazza Pace.
At the moment, the Il Nuovo Vesuvio Cultural Association has not yet announced the official dates or the program for the 2026 edition. The schedule, usually communicated at the end of summer, will be updated as soon as it becomes available.
Boscoreale is located in the province of Naples, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. By car, it can be reached via the A3 Naples-Salerno motorway (exit Torre Annunziata Sud or Pompei). By train, the Circumvesuviana station of Boscoreale or the Pompei station connects the town to Naples and Sorrento.
Admission to the festival is free. The food and wine trail generally opens in the late afternoon, with stalls active from the evening onwards. Wine tastings and masterclasses may require ticket purchases or seat reservations.
Parking areas are available near the town center. It is recommended to check the updated dates and program on the Il Nuovo Vesuvio Cultural Association's channels before traveling.
