A village festival entirely dedicated to tomino cheese

The Fried Tomino Festival is the gastronomic celebration of Torrazza Piemonte, a small town in the Canavese plains in the Province of Turin, just a few kilometers from the border with the Vercelli area. Established in 2015 by the Amici di Roby association, the festival has quickly become a staple of late May, drawing both local residents and visitors from neighboring towns like Verolengo and Saluggia to the town square.

The undisputed star is the fried tomino, the famous fresh Piedmontese cheese, breaded and fried, served hot and crispy according to the recipe that made the event famous. This specialty is the centerpiece of a menu featuring local traditional delicacies, served at the food stalls set up for the occasion.

More than just a food and wine festival

The festival is about more than just great food. Throughout the weekend, Torrazza Piemonte comes alive with live music, social evenings, and entertainment for all ages, capturing the true spirit of a village fair. The event is closely linked to StraTominando, the non-competitive running and walking race also organized by the Amici di Roby, which takes place alongside the festival and attracts over two hundred athletes every year to the 5 and 9-kilometer routes between Torrazza and Verolengo.
