The Val di Non Apple Blossom Festival
Fiorinda is the annual spring event celebrating the blooming of the apple orchards in Val di Non, the fruit-growing heart of Trentino. The festival takes place in the village of Mollaro, in the municipality of Predaia, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige), when the vast expanses of apple trees are covered in white and pink blossoms, turning the valley into an open-air stage. It is the event that kicks off the valley's tourist season and the Aprile Dolce Fiorire (Sweet April Blooming) spring festival series.
Fiorinda is designed as a sprawling trail that winds through Mollaro and the surrounding orchards, organized into thematic areas dedicated to nature and wellness, history and heritage, creativity and crafts, and activities for children and families. Visitors can wander freely between stalls, food stands, and association spaces, fully immersed in the colors and scents of the blossom season.
The absolute stars are the local products: Val di Non apples, wines, craft beers, mountain cheeses, herbs, and specialties of the Nonesa culinary tradition. The market brings together producers from the 'Strada della Mela e dei Sapori' (Apple and Flavors Route), while food stands serve traditional local dishes. There is no shortage of culinary workshops, tastings, and the opportunity to purchase seasonal flowers and plants.
The program includes walks and bike rides through the blooming orchards accompanied by local farmers, workshops and games for children, street performances, and live music. The festival is also an opportunity to discover the valley's cultural heritage: guided tours lead to the castles of Val di Non—including Castel Thun and Castel Valer—the Sanctuary of San Romedio, the Novella River Park, and the underground Melinda storage facilities, where apples are preserved deep beneath the earth.
Organized by the Pro Loco of Taio in collaboration with the Val di Non Tourism Board, Fiorinda involves dozens of local producers, volunteer associations, and artisans. The event has been awarded the 'Evento Leggero' (Light Event) certification for its sustainable waste management, proving itself a vital lifeblood for the social and economic fabric of the Val di Non.
The 2026 edition of Fiorinda was held on April 11 and 12, 2026, in Mollaro, in the municipality of Predaia (Val di Non, Trentino). The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Taio, involved dozens of local producers, numerous volunteer associations, and artisans, with over fifty meetings, activities, and workshops.
The village came alive with a sprawling trail divided into thematic areas dedicated to nature, history, creativity, and families. Highlights included: a market of local products featuring apples, wines, craft beers, and mountain herbs, food stands serving traditional Nonesa dishes, children's workshops, and guided walks and bike rides through the blooming orchards with local farmers.
The cultural program was also rich, with guided tours of the underground Melinda storage facilities, Castel Thun, and the Sanctuary of San Romedio. The event maintained its 'Evento Leggero' certification for sustainable waste management.
