Autumn in Cles: apples, chestnuts, and tradition

The Cles Autumn Festival is one of the most anticipated autumn events in Val di Non, held in the town of Cles, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). It features a long calendar of initiatives that accompanies the community through the period between the harvest of the famous Val di Non apples and the start of the Christmas season. For several weeks, between late October and the second half of November, the historic center of Cles transforms into a vibrant stage for folklore, culinary, musical, and cultural events.

A program spread across the historic center

The beating heart of the festival is Piazza Granda, where the most authentic atmosphere of the celebration can be felt during the peak days: live music, entertainment for children, creative workshops, and the unmistakable aromas of roasted chestnuts and mulled wine. Local neighborhood groups offer traditional valley cuisine, with dishes such as apple fritters, sauerkraut with cotechino sausage, and polenta conciada, offering visitors a true journey through the flavors of the region.

Culture, exhibitions, and music

Alongside the gastronomic dimension, the Cles Autumn Festival gives ample space to culture. The Palazzo Assessorile hosts antique exhibitions and art shows, while auditoriums, churches, and town halls welcome prestigious concerts, ranging from chamber orchestras to award-winning choirs. There is no shortage of flea markets, film screenings, conferences, and vintage car displays along the streets of the center.

A celebration of the territory

Nestled among the orchards that produce the renowned Val di Non apples, Cles uses the Cles Autumn Festival as the ideal opportunity to showcase its rural and commercial identity. The festival is promoted by the Consorzio Cles Iniziative together with the Municipality of Cles and the Pro Loco, with the involvement of local restaurants and shops that remain open with extended hours for the occasion. An event designed for all ages, capable of combining tradition, taste, and culture in the evocative setting of an autumn in Trentino.
