The traditional spring festival of flowers, plants, and sweets in the heart of San Maurizio Canavese
Dolce Fiore is the spring festival that brings the center of San Maurizio Canavese to life every year. Located in the Metropolitan City of Turin at the gateway to the Canavese region in Piedmont, this event is organized by the Municipality of San Maurizio Canavese. It perfectly blends two icons of the season: flowers and sweets. This unique combination has made it one of the most beloved and anticipated events in the local spring calendar.
From morning until evening, the town center transforms into a vibrant open-air market. Stalls showcase a wide variety of flowers, plants, and gardening products, alongside every kind of sweet imaginable: candies, chocolate, cotton candy, and other gourmet treats, as well as themed curiosities. It is the perfect opportunity to pick up your first seasonal plants and indulge in a few sweet treats while strolling through the market.
The day is enriched by numerous side events designed for both adults and children:
The sweetest and most symbolic moment of the festival is the cake cutting: in the afternoon, in the town hall gardens, a massive cake prepared by local pastry chefs is shared with all attendees. It is a gesture that perfectly captures the convivial and festive spirit of Dolce Fiore.
Strategically located between Turin and the Canavese valleys, San Maurizio Canavese preserves a rich historical and religious heritage, starting with the Antica Chiesa Plebana. Dolce Fiore is the perfect occasion not only to celebrate but also to discover the village, its traditions, and the warm hospitality of this corner of Piedmont.
The 2026 edition of Dolce Fiore was held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM in the center of San Maurizio Canavese.
Throughout the day, stalls offered flowers, plants, gardening supplies, sweets, chocolate, and themed novelties. Street entertainment was provided by ASD Kaboom Act, with jugglers and stilt walkers roaming the town streets.
The Antica Chiesa Plebana and the San Rocco chapel were open from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM for guided tours. At 4:00 PM, the traditional cake cutting took place in the town hall gardens, featuring a cake prepared by local pastry chefs.
The festival takes place in spring, typically in the second half of April, with continuous hours from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Admission is free.
By car: San Maurizio Canavese is easily accessible from Turin via the SP13/SP267, in about 25-30 minutes. By train: the Ciriรจ station, on the Turin-Ceres line, is just a few kilometers away. By plane: Turin-Caselle Airport is located just a few kilometers from the town.
