About Volpiano Patronal Feast

Every year at the end of June, Volpiano celebrates its patron saints, Peter and Paul, with the town's most cherished patronal feast. Four days of live music, food and wine stands by the Pro Loco in Piazza Italia, religious services, and the traditional procession through the town center. A popular event that brings together local districts, the 'coscritti' (conscripts), and the entire Canavese community in a festive atmosphere filled with concerts, ballroom dancing, Piedmontese flavors, and a funfair for families.

The Volpiano Patronal Feast

At the end of June, the town of Volpiano, in the province of Turin, comes to a standstill to celebrate its patron saints, Peter and Paul. The SS. Peter and Paul Patronal Feast is the most anticipated event of the Volpiano summer: a tradition that weaves together religious devotion, music, gastronomy, and social life, involving the various districts of the town, the local conscripts, and the entire Canavese community.

Four days of music and conviviality

The beating heart of the festival is Piazza Italia, along Corso Platone, where every evening the food and wine stands managed by the Pro Loco of Volpiano come to life: bars, street food, pizza, pasta dishes, and grilled meats accompany the musical performances. The program alternates between pop music evenings, cover bands, and ballroom dancing, with orchestras and groups keeping both young and old dancing until late at night.

Religious tradition

Alongside the entertainment, the festival preserves its original significance. Sunday is dedicated to the Solemn Holy Mass and the community lunch at the San Giuseppe Oratory, while on June 29th, the liturgical day of Saints Peter and Paul, the evening celebration is followed by the traditional procession through the streets of the townโ€”a moment of strong popular participation that has defined the identity of Volpiano for generations.

For families

During the festival days, rides and a funfair are set up in designated areas of the town, making the event suitable for children as well. The event is organized by the Pro Loco together with the Volpiano districts and the local conscripts, under the patronage of the Municipality of Volpiano.

A festival of the Canavese

The Volpiano Patronal Feast is one of the most deeply rooted popular festivals in the Canavese region, in the heart of Piedmont: an opportunity to rediscover local traditions, taste the flavors of Piedmontese cuisine, and experience the community spirit that characterizes this corner of the province of Turin. Admission to the stands and shows is free.
