Celebrating the wine and olive oil of Tocco da Casauria in the heart of Abruzzo
DiVinOlio is a food and wine festival that lights up the village of Tocco da Casauria, in the province of Pescara, Abruzzo, at the end of summer. Its name blends the town's two core productsโwine and oilโand reflects its ancient heritage: Tocco da Casauria is recognized as both a City of Wine and a City of Oil, a dual title few Italian towns can claim.
The town of Tocco da Casauria sits on a hill in the Pescara River valley, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves at the foot of the Majella massif. This is the birthplace of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, now further elevated by the prestigious Casauria designation, and the Aprutino Pescarese PDO extra virgin olive oil, crafted from local cultivars like the Toccolana, an indigenous variety named after the village itself.
DiVinOlio is a highlight of the Tocco summer events calendar and the regional food and wine circuit, attracting enthusiasts and curious visitors every year. It is the perfect opportunity to discover an authentic corner of inland Abruzzo, blending rural tradition, a culture of fine drinking, and rolling hillside landscapes.
Beyond the tastings, the festival invites you to wander through the alleys of Tocco da Casauria, meet the producers, and explore the local gastronomic heritage, which includes cheeses, honey, and the famous traditional Abruzzo herbal liqueur. An event that unites food, wine, community, and the identity of the Pescara territory.
The 2026 edition of DiVinOlio will take place on August 21 and 22, 2026, in Tocco da Casauria, with evening gatherings at Palazzo Toro. Two days dedicated to the wine and oil of the Pescara region, featuring tastings, traditional cuisine, and stories of local products.
The event is part of the Tocco summer program and the food and wine circuit dedicated to the Pescara lands. The detailed program, including times, guests, and tasting options, will be finalized by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
Tocco da Casauria is located in the Pescara River valley, about 40 km from the provincial capital. By car, it is accessible via the A25 motorway (Torre de' Passeri / Casauria exit). The nearest train station is on the Rome-Pescara line.
The event takes place in the historic center and at Palazzo Toro. For schedules, potential tasting fees, and a detailed program, we recommend checking the official channels of the Municipality of Tocco da Casauria closer to the event date.
An ideal time to combine your visit with a tour of local wineries and olive mills, and to explore the villages of the Casauria valley at the foot of the Majella.
