The patronal feast of the San Vittorino district in Caramanico Terme
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Every year in late August, the San Vittorino district of Caramanico Terme celebrates its patron saint with three days of festivities that bridge religious devotion with popular conviviality. The district is a small hamlet perched along the Orta River, in the province of Pescara, in the heart of the Majella National Park, overlooking a landscape that embraces the Majella, Morrone, and Gran Sasso massifs.
The celebrations are organized by the Municipality of Caramanico Terme in collaboration with the local parish, involving the entire district community. The festival honors San Vittorino and the Madonna delle Nebbie, figures deeply rooted in the village's popular devotion, whose small 18th-century church has guarded the spiritual memory of the place for centuries. It is an event that draws locals, returning emigrants, and visitors alike into a climate of renewed summer familiarity.
The most solemn moment is the procession in honor of San Vittorino, accompanied by the Lettomanoppello marching band, which winds through the streets of the district following Holy Mass. Alongside the sacred rites, the festival offers all the hallmarks of traditional Abruzzese culture:
The San Vittorino Festival is one of the most anticipated events of the summer in Caramanico Terme, a town renowned for its thermal baths and its privileged location within the Majella National Park in Abruzzo. The festival is an opportunity to rediscover the identity of a small mountain community, where religious devotion and village celebrations remain a living, shared heritage.
The 2026 edition of the San Vittorino Festival in Caramanico Terme does not yet have an official program. Based on previous editions, the patronal feast is expected in the final days of August in the San Vittorino district, in the heart of the Majella National Park. The program is expected to include the traditional highlights: Holy Mass and the solemn procession with the band, food stalls with Abruzzese flavors, dance orchestras, and the Ballo della Pupa. Dates and the detailed program will be released by the organizers on community channels in the weeks leading up to the event.
The San Vittorino district is located in the municipality of Caramanico Terme (PE), in Abruzzo. By car, it can be reached from the Alanno-Scafa motorway exit (A25) by continuing along the SS487 towards Caramanico Terme and the Majella National Park.
Admission to the celebrations and shows is free. Food stalls serving typical Abruzzese dishes are available during the evenings. It is recommended to check dates and the program on the San Vittorino community's social media channels before traveling.
