Two summer evenings of wineries, tastings, and music in the village of Alanno
Every summer, the village of Alanno, in the province of Pescara, comes alive for Le Notti del Vino, a food and wine festival that brings the best of Abruzzo's viticulture to the historic center. For two evenings, the town's streets and squares turn into a sprawling tasting trail where visitors can stroll with a glass in hand, browse winery stands, enjoy live music, and savor local delicacies.
The event is part of the major national Le Notti del Vino circuit, promoted by the National Association of Città del Vino, which involves wine-producing villages and towns across Italy between late June and September. Alanno is one of the most vibrant stops in Abruzzo and has frequently hosted the association's regional festival, gathering wine-producing municipalities and regional wineries in a single event.
The heart of the event is the tasting experience: dozens of farms and local wineries present Abruzzo's finest, from Montepulciano d'Abruzzo to Trebbiano and Cerasuolo. With the official tasting kit—which includes a glass, a holder, and tasting tickets—visitors can move freely between stands to compare different interpretations of local grape varieties. Tastings are paired with local specialties, creating combinations that highlight every nuance of the wines.
Alongside the wine, the event offers a rich program of live music, folk performances, and social moments that animate the historic center until late at night. Some editions also feature conferences and meetings dedicated to producers, discussing the future of viticulture, climate, the market, and cultivation techniques, reflecting the cultural dimension of the Città del Vino project.
Organized by the Municipality of Alanno in collaboration with the National Association of Città del Vino, the festival has become a highly anticipated date on the summer calendar for the Municipality of Alanno and the food and wine scene of Abruzzo. Le Notti del Vino combines tourism promotion for the village, support for local wineries, and the pleasure of an evening outdoors in a festive atmosphere that attracts visitors from across the province of Pescara and beyond.
The 2026 edition of Le Notti del Vino in Alanno will be held on August 12 and 13, 2026, in the center of the town, in the province of Pescara. The festival confirms its status as one of the Abruzzo stops on the national Le Notti del Vino circuit promoted by the National Association of Città del Vino, which for the 2026 edition animates Italian wine villages from June 21 to September 23.
Once again this year, the public will be able to stroll through the streets of the historic center with a tasting glass, savoring Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Trebbiano, and Cerasuolo alongside local products, amidst live music and a festive atmosphere. The full program, including schedules, a list of wineries, and evening events, will be published by the Municipality of Alanno in the weeks preceding the event.
