About De Volt en Cort

De Volt en Cort is the great community festival of Aldeno, in the province of Trento. For three days, the historic town centre opens its hidden courtyards, vaulted passages, and small squares to host Trentino gastronomy, live music on multiple stages, and entertainment for children. Organised by the Pro Loco together with a dozen local associations and around two hundred volunteers, it is a free event that weaves together popular tradition, conviviality, and the rediscovery of the village's most beautiful corners.

A festival that opens the courtyards of Aldeno

De Volt en Cort is the signature event of Aldeno, a town in the lower Vallagarina valley in the province of Trento, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. The name, in the local Trentino dialect, refers to the volt (the vaulted passages and narrow alleys of the village) and the cort (the internal courtyards of historic houses). For the occasion, owners open these usually private spaces, transforming the ancient part of the town—with its narrow streets, streams, and squares—into a large, widespread stage.

Gastronomy in the courtyards

The heart of the festival is its food and wine offering, distributed across numerous refreshment points set up by associations in the courtyards and corners of the historic centre. Alongside traditional Trentino dishes, there are curious and international recipes: past editions have featured stew, porchetta, and arrosticini, as well as penne with wild boar ragù, trout fillet with potato rösti, pork cheek with spätzle, and even Valencian paella, not to mention vegetarian and gluten-free options. Everything is accompanied by local wines.

Music and widespread entertainment

During the evenings, the town comes alive with concerts and musical performances scattered across multiple points. Various stages set up in the historic centre host different bands and genres, allowing the public to stroll from one courtyard to another, shifting between different atmospheres. There is no shortage of art installations, exhibitions, and craft stalls.

For families

De Volt en Cort is also designed for the little ones, with games, trampolines, face painting, play areas, and the traditional treasure hunt through the village streets. It is an intergenerational festival capable of involving the entire community.

A community in celebration

The event is organised by the Pro Loco of Aldeno with the involvement of a dozen local associations and the mobilisation of around two hundred volunteers. This collective spirit makes De Volt en Cort much more than a simple food festival; it is a true choral narrative of the town. Admission is free, and the choice of ceramic tableware and separate waste collection demonstrates a commitment to sustainability.
