Cortona Top Festival

A journey through taste in the historic center of Cortona

The Cortona Top Festival is a food and wine event held in Cortona, a stunning art city of Etruscan origin perched on the hills of the Valdichiana, in the province of Arezzo, in the heart of Tuscany. The acronym TOP summarizes the spirit of the event: Territory, Origin, Products. For an entire weekend, the squares of the historic center become a large, widespread showcase of local production excellence, featuring tastings, sampling stalls, cooking shows, and entertainment.

The squares and the atmosphere

The festival distributes its offerings across the main squares of the village, each with its own thematic identity. In past editions, Piazza Garibaldi hosted street food and craft beer, Piazza della Repubblica featured live music, DJ sets, and cocktails, while Piazza Signorelli was dedicated to Cortona DOC wines. This formula transforms the historic center into a continuous path of discovery, where you can walk through medieval alleys and stop to taste the flavors of the territory.

The protagonists: wine, oil, and local products

The heart of the festival is the production of the Valdichiana. Great emphasis is placed on the wines of the Consorzio Vini Cortona, with local wineries, as well as extra virgin olive oil, honey, cheeses, artisanal spirits, and the prized Chianina beef. The festival was created with the goal of networking Cortona-based companies, enhancing both established businesses and new, small-scale quality productions.

The signature dinner on via Nazionale

The event opens with TOP Dining, the gala dinner set up along via Nazionale, the elegant pedestrian street in the center. It is a signature gastronomic experience, with a menu signed by local chefs and pairings with Cortona DOC wines, available by reservation and with limited seating.

An event for the territory

Organized by Confcommercio Firenze-Arezzo together with the Municipality of Cortona and with the contribution of the Chamber of Commerce, the Cortona Top Festival is also designed with a tourist perspective: its September timing, on the weekend following the historic Cortonantiquaria, intercepts the flow of Italian and international visitors who bring the city to life. Between excellent products, music, and the unique atmosphere of one of the most beautiful villages in Tuscany, the festival is an ideal opportunity to discover the Valdichiana through its flavors.
