The Canaiola Wine and Typical Products Festival of Umbria takes place in Pretola, a hamlet of the Municipality of Perugia, situated along the Tiber River and recognizable by its ancient medieval tower, a symbol of the village. Organized by the Associazione per Pretola APS, the event enlivens the village on late September evenings with gastronomy, wine, and shows.

The heart of the festival is Canaiola, an ancient grape variety and sweet wine of Umbrian tradition that gives the festival its name. Alongside the wine, the stands offer the best of regional typical products and a peasant cuisine that brings to the table:

How to get there
Pretola is located a few kilometers from Perugia center, along the Tiber towards Ponte Felcino. It is easily reachable by car; the Ponte San Giovanni train station is one of the closest.
