The food, wine, and agritourism market exhibition in the village of Anghiari
Every autumn, between late October and early November, the historic center of Anghiari (Province of Arezzo, Tuscany) transforms into a grand showcase of Apennine flavors. I Centogusti dell'Appennino is a market exhibition dedicated to agritourism and gastronomy, created to promote the typical products and rural tourism of the Valtiberina valley. For the occasion, the characteristic workshops of the medieval village reopen their doors to host producers and visitors, recreating the atmosphere of a bygone market along the town's streets and stairways.
The heart of the event lies in its direct producers: shoppers can learn exactly how their food is made and where it comes from. Among the stalls, you will find local delicacies such as pecorino cheese, cured meats, wines, vegetables, traditional sweets, honey, and chocolate, with opportunities for tasting and purchasing on-site. In recent years, the exhibition has also increasingly focused on zero-kilometer products, as well as vegan and gluten-free options, broadening its appeal to all dietary needs.
Alongside the workshops, the program offers events that bring the entire village to life: the Osteria dei Centogusti, managed directly by the Anghiari Pro Loco, where you can stop for traditional dishes; the Centogusti Walk through the surrounding hills; local wine tastings; wandering folk songs; and moments dedicated to local culture. It is an event designed for all ages, blending gastronomy, landscape, and history.
As one of Italy's most beautiful medieval villages, Anghiari is famous for the Battle of Anghiari of 1440, immortalized in a lost fresco by Leonardo da Vinci. Visiting the festival is also the perfect opportunity to discover the Battle Museum, the town walls, the historic workshops, and the artisanal identity of this corner of Tuscany bordering Umbria. The event is also part of the Upper Tiber Valley's bid to become the Italian Capital of Culture.
The 2026 edition of I Centogusti dell'Appennino takes place in Anghiari from Wednesday, October 28 to Sunday, November 1, 2026, and promises to be one of the richest ever, both in duration and number of exhibitors. Approximately 40 direct producers will reopen the workshops of the historic center, many of whom have been present since the very first editions.
The market exhibition is dedicated to agritourism and gastronomy, with a special focus on zero-kilometer local products and options for the vegan and gluten-free world. Announced events include: the Lace Biennial at Palazzo Pretorio with an awards ceremony, the Osteria dei Centogusti set up above the walls, and the traditional walk. The event is one of the first official initiatives linked to the Upper Tiber Valley's candidacy for Italian Capital of Culture.
The Centogusti workshops are open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; on Thursday, opening is in the afternoon.
The detailed day-by-day calendar will be published by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
