The fair for Sicilian natural, organic, and biodynamic wines at the Castello di Carini
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Castello di...Vino is the food and wine event that brings the best of Sicilian artisanal viticulture to Carini, in the heart of the Palermo province. The setting is the extraordinary Castello La Grua Talamanca, an ancient fortress of Arab and Norman origins that dominates the town's historic center. For the duration of the fair, its halls and courtyards become a refined showcase dedicated to the island's natural, organic, and biodynamic wines.
The absolute stars are the Sicilian producers who work with respect for the land and traditions, offering wines crafted with minimal intervention in both the cellar and the vineyard. Visitors can stroll between tasting counters, engage directly with the winemakers, and discover labels often unavailable in large retail chains. Tastings are accompanied by gastronomic specialties typical of the island's tradition, in a journey that highlights the bond between wine, food, and the territory.
Beyond the tastings, the fair offers a rich program of side events, including workshops, seminars, and in-depth discussions on natural wine culture, viticultural biodiversity, and sustainable farming practices. These sessions are designed for enthusiasts and industry professionals alike, as well as for curious visitors eager to explore the world of artisanal wines.
Organized by the Jonathan Livingston ODV association with the patronage of the Municipality of Carini and I.R.V.O. (Regional Institute of Wine and Oil), the festival was established in 2024 and has quickly become a benchmark for natural wine in the Palermo area. For visitors, it is also the perfect opportunity to discover the Castello La Grua Talamanca, a landmark of Carini and Western Sicily, famously linked to the historical tale of Baroness Laura Lanza.
With a symbolic entry fee, Castello di...Vino appeals to a wide audience: wine lovers, tourists, foodies, and families. The combination of historical heritage, the landscape of Western Sicily, and the culture of authentic wine makes this event an unmissable stop for anyone wishing to experience the most genuine oenological soul of the island.
The dates for the 2026 edition of Castello di...Vino have not yet been announced. Considering the calendar of previous editions — May in 2025 and June in 2024 — the event is expected to return during the spring-summer period at the Castello La Grua Talamanca in Carini, in the province of Palermo. As soon as the organizers from the Jonathan Livingston ODV association publish the official dates and program, this page will be updated.
