About Armi Santi

Armi Santi is Palermo's traditional All Souls' Fair, organized by the Artigianando Association. Every year, between late October and early November, it brings the heart of the historic center to life along Via Maqueda. Between the Quattro Canti and Piazza Bellini, over thirty exhibitors showcase Sicilian handicrafts and traditional All Souls' Day sweets: marzipan fruit, sugar puppets, and the iconic 'bones of the dead' cookies. A free, open-air street festival that weaves together memory, tradition, and artisanal craftsmanship.

Armi Santi, the All Souls' Fair of Palermo

"Armi Santi" is one of the most cherished events organized by the Artigianando Association, representing the artisanal version of Palermo's historic All Souls' Fair. The event takes place in the heart of the Sicilian capital's historic center, along the central Via Maqueda, stretching from the Quattro Canti to Piazza Bellini, transforming one of the city's busiest streets into a vibrant path of stalls, scents, and tradition.

An All Souls' celebration experienced in the streets

In Palermo, the commemoration of the dead has always been a community affair: a celebration lived outdoors, among the people, in a spirit of joy and lightheartedness. Armi Santi embraces this popular heritage and brings it to the streets with a completely free and accessible event. The fair is traditionally held around November 1st and 2nd, with extended opening hours on certain evenings.

Sicilian crafts and traditional sweets

The heart of the fair is craftsmanship: over thirty exhibitors present toys, creative sewing, accessories, leather bags, wooden lamps, and stations dedicated to natural fragrances, ceramics, and embroidered textiles. Plenty of space is reserved for the typical sweets of the season: marzipan fruit (frutta martorana), pupaccena, the sugar puppets (pupi di zucchero) beloved by children, and the characteristic bones of the dead (ossa dei morti), also known as mustazzoli. There is also no shortage of local street food flavors.

Entertainment and workshops for families

During the event, there are moments designed especially for children, with street performers, face painting, and numerous creative workshops, often in collaboration with local associations. Admission to the fair is completely free.

Where it takes place

Armi Santi is held in Palermo, the capital of the Sicily region and the Metropolitan City of Palermo, along Via Maqueda in the historic center. Its location, just a few steps from the city's main monuments, makes the fair an ideal stop for those visiting the city during the All Saints' long weekend.

Armi Santi — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Armi Santi, Palermo's All Souls' craft fair on Via Maqueda, is expected as usual during the days around late October and early November. The official dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the Artigianando Association: the calendar will be updated as soon as they are available.
