The traditional All Souls' craft fair on Via Maqueda in Palermo
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
"Armi Santi" is one of the most cherished events organized by the Artigianando Association, representing the artisanal version of Palermo's historic All Souls' Fair. The event takes place in the heart of the Sicilian capital's historic center, along the central Via Maqueda, stretching from the Quattro Canti to Piazza Bellini, transforming one of the city's busiest streets into a vibrant path of stalls, scents, and tradition.
In Palermo, the commemoration of the dead has always been a community affair: a celebration lived outdoors, among the people, in a spirit of joy and lightheartedness. Armi Santi embraces this popular heritage and brings it to the streets with a completely free and accessible event. The fair is traditionally held around November 1st and 2nd, with extended opening hours on certain evenings.
The heart of the fair is craftsmanship: over thirty exhibitors present toys, creative sewing, accessories, leather bags, wooden lamps, and stations dedicated to natural fragrances, ceramics, and embroidered textiles. Plenty of space is reserved for the typical sweets of the season: marzipan fruit (frutta martorana), pupaccena, the sugar puppets (pupi di zucchero) beloved by children, and the characteristic bones of the dead (ossa dei morti), also known as mustazzoli. There is also no shortage of local street food flavors.
During the event, there are moments designed especially for children, with street performers, face painting, and numerous creative workshops, often in collaboration with local associations. Admission to the fair is completely free.
Armi Santi is held in Palermo, the capital of the Sicily region and the Metropolitan City of Palermo, along Via Maqueda in the historic center. Its location, just a few steps from the city's main monuments, makes the fair an ideal stop for those visiting the city during the All Saints' long weekend.
The Artigianando Association traditionally brings back Armi Santi during the days of the commemoration of the dead, along Via Maqueda in the historic center of Palermo. Official dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been released. In line with previous editions, the fair is expected to confirm its selection of Sicilian crafts and traditional sweets such as marzipan fruit, sugar puppets, and bones of the dead, with free admission. This page will be updated with the final program as soon as it is published.
