Roman cuisine arrives in Moncalieri, at Piazza del Mercato del Bestiame
The Carbonara Festival - The Best of Roman Cuisine makes a stop in Moncalieri, in the province of Turin, transforming Piazza del Mercato del Bestiame into a grand gastronomic village dedicated to the culinary traditions of the Capital. This traveling event has already won over dozens of Italian cities and is arriving for the first time in this corner of Piedmont, right at the gates of the regional capital.
The concept is simple and irresistible: bringing the authentic flavors of Rome's popular cuisine away from the city, prepared by 35 chefs arriving directly from the Capital, who are the guardians of original traditional Roman recipes. This is not just a simple street food fair, but a journey of taste that puts the iconic dishes of the Eternal City at the center stage.
The absolute stars are the great traditional pasta dishes: carbonara, cacio e pepe, and amatriciana. Alongside them, a parade of specialties that showcases the full richness of Roman cuisine:
Everything is paired with Castelli Romani wines, beer, and cocktails, recreating the convivial atmosphere of the Capital's traditional osterias in the heart of Moncalieri.
Admission to the festival is free and does not require reservations: tables and benches are available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. The open-air gastronomic village format, with music and continuous service, makes the event perfect for an evening out with friends or a family trip.
The setting is the grand Piazza del Mercato del Bestiame, a historic space in Moncalieri now dedicated to culinary events, confirming the city's role as a reference point for food and wine in Piedmont.
For its first stop in Moncalieri, the Carbonara Festival enlivened Piazza del Mercato del Bestiame from May 29 to June 2, 2026, with a gastronomic village entirely dedicated to Roman cuisine and 35 chefs who arrived directly from the Capital.
