About MeriggiaRe Sonoro

MeriggiaRe Sonoro is a classical music, opera, and operetta festival that brings the Bosco del Re—the monumental park surrounding the Castle of Moncalieri, near Turin—to life. Set in the heart of the Piedmontese greenery, four free concerts transform the park into an open-air theater where music meets nature. Featuring a blend of classical repertoire, film scores, and operetta, the festival offers high-quality artistic afternoons accessible to all, celebrating one of the city's most evocative locations.

A festival of timeless music

MeriggiaRe Sonoro is a classical music festival now in its second edition, hosted in the Bosco del Re, the monumental park surrounding the Castle of Moncalieri, just outside Turin. Promoted by the City of Moncalieri in partnership with the Fondazione Matrice ETS, the event was born from a collaborative project designed to enhance this green corner of the city through live music, turning the park into an open-air theater immersed in nature.

The 2026 Program

The 2026 edition features four free concerts held between June 2 and June 28, under the artistic direction of Rocco Magnoli. Each event explores a different repertoire, ranging from classical music to operetta, and from cinematic soundtracks to string arrangements:

  • June 2 - "Regine di Cuori" (Queens of Hearts), an inaugural concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of women's suffrage in Italy, featuring Laura Lanfranchi (soprano), Sara Musso (piano), and Cecilia Bacci (violin).
  • June 14 - "Classico ma non troppo" (Classical, but not too much), with the Trio Trianon: Maria Teresa Amenduni and Irene Volpi on violins and Giulio Richini on cello.
  • June 21 - "Una Notte a Hollywood. La musica dei Sogni" (A Night in Hollywood. The Music of Dreams), dedicated to great film scores, with Andrea Albertini on piano and vocalists Angelica Depaoli and Max di Lullo.
  • June 28 - "Gran Galà di Operetta" (Grand Operetta Gala), with Elena D'Angelo (soprano), Matteo Mazzoli (vocals), and Saadat Ismailova on piano.

Where music meets nature

The charm of MeriggiaRe Sonoro lies in the harmony between art and environment: the concerts take place outdoors, in the green area near the Casa del Vignolante, where the audience can enjoy high-quality music immersed in the landscape of the historic park. In case of bad weather, the events will be moved indoors to the halls of the prestigious Real Collegio Carlo Alberto in Moncalieri.

An event for the whole city

With free admission, the festival appeals to a wide audience, from classical music enthusiasts to families looking for a unique afternoon. MeriggiaRe Sonoro is a key part of Moncalieri's cultural calendar, offering a chance to rediscover the Bosco del Re and its Castle—a UNESCO World Heritage site among the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy—in a harmonious dialogue between history, landscape, and the great music of Piedmont.
