Chieri, the capital of craft beer

Every summer, Piazza Dante, in the heart of Chieri's historic center (Province of Turin, Piedmont), transforms for a few days into the Piedmontese capital of craft beer. BicCHIERI di Birra is the festival that brings together some of the best independent Italian microbreweries, with their taps open every evening to help the public discover the styles, aromas, and flavors of quality brewing. A play on words between the city's name and the glasses (bicchieri) to be filled, it has quickly become one of the most anticipated summer events in the Chieri area.

Craft beers, taps, and pop prices

The heart of the event lies in the over thirty-five labels presented and served directly by the producers, who share the unique characteristics of each beer with the public. The event's philosophy is accessible quality: "pop" prices, averaging around five euros per glass, to introduce even the less experienced to the world of craft beer without barriers. The taps open in the late afternoon and the entertainment continues until late at night.

Street food and live music

Alongside the beers, a large street food area offers specialties ranging from Chieri focaccia to pulled pork sandwiches, Piedmontese Fassona beef burgers to Sicilian arancini and cannoli, as well as vegetarian options and desserts. Every evening is accompanied by live music and performances, with bands, tribute acts, and DJ sets curated by the Pro Loco of Chieri, enlivening the square with a diverse program.

BicCHIERI OFF and awards

The festival extends beyond the square thanks to the BicCHIERI OFF initiative, which involves local establishments: the participating breweries supply their beers to city center venues, which organize themed events, aperitifs, and tastings. Among the most anticipated moments are the awards presented during the event, such as the Birra pop award for the beer most appreciated by the general public, and the Birra dell'evento award for the best pour of the festival.

BicCHIERI di Birra is a free-entry event designed for families, groups of friends, and enthusiasts. Organized by the Pro Loco of Chieri with the support of the Municipality of Chieri, it is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the Chieri summer with good beer, street food, and plenty of music, while discovering the charm of the city's historic center.
