Two months of music, cinema, theatre, and events throughout the Royal City
Moncalieri Summer is the grand summer festival promoted by the City of Moncalieri, a municipality on the southern outskirts of Turin overlooking the Po River, famous for its Royal Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Savoy residence. For nearly two months, from June 10 to August 2, 2026, the entire city becomes an open-air stage: the program brings squares, historic districts, parks, courtyards, villas, and iconic landmarks to life with a packed, mostly free calendar.
The soundtrack of the Moncalieri summer ranges from singer-songwriter hits to tribute acts, and from early music to grand orchestral performances. Highlights include the MeriggiaRe Sonoro series in the evocative Bosco del Re and Orfeo in Giardino, dedicated to early music in historic villas. There is also plenty of ironic theatre, dance, and children's storytelling, with performances also involving the renowned Fonderie Teatrali Limone.
Cinema takes center stage with Wednesday night screenings for children in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and the auteur film series in Piazza Brennero. Literary meetings bring well-known figures from journalism and entertainment to the city, while Slow Food Day and the Farmers' Market celebrate Piedmontese local products. The offer is completed by flea markets, antiques, and various food and wine events.
The summer is marked by district festivalsโfrom Revigliasco to Borgo San Pietroโand the Medieval Re-enactment of Testona. The Castle of Moncalieri, the Real Collegio Carlo Alberto, and other royal circuit sites open their doors for guided tours and themed trails. The heart of the event is the Patronal Feast of Beato Bernardo, featuring a historical-religious re-enactment, a procession through the historic center, and, on July 15, the traditional fireworks display over the Po River.
Organized by the City of Moncalieri in collaboration with the Pro Loco, local associations, and cultural operators, Moncalieri Summer is one of the richest summer festivals in the Turin metropolitan area. Most events are free to enter; some tours of the Castle and the Real Collegio require a fee and booking.
The 2026 program of Moncalieri Summer confirms the 'diffused stage' formula, with dozens of events distributed over nearly two months throughout the city. Between music, cinema, theatre, literary meetings, themed markets, and tours of Savoy heritage, the edition ideally concludes with the Patronal Feast of Beato Bernardo and the pyrotechnic show over the Po River.
Moncalieri (TO) is just a few kilometers from the center of Turin. By car, it can be reached via the southern ring road (Moncalieri exits); by train, the Moncalieri station is served by the Metropolitan Railway Service (SFM) lines. Numerous GTT bus lines connect the city to Turin.
Most events are free of charge. Some visits (Moncalieri Castle, Real Collegio Carlo Alberto) require a fee and mandatory booking.
