The festival of African and Afro-descendant cultures in Turin
CreativAfrica is one of the most original highlights of the cultural summer in Turin, in the heart of Piedmont. Created to give space and voice to African and Afro-descendant cultures, the festival transforms iconic city venues into a crossroads of music, art, cuisine, discourse, and activism for twelve days. The event is organized by the Renken ETS association, with the support of Fondazione CRT and Fondazione per la Cultura Torino, and under the patronage of the City of Turin.
The 2026 edition, the twelfth, revolves around the theme "Roots and Sprouts". On one hand, it looks toward the deep roots of African cultures; on the other, it focuses on the sprouts that are currently weaving new paths for Afro-descendant creativity, through musical fusion, visual arts, and civic engagement. It is a journey that aims to overcome stereotypes and tell the story of plural, ever-evolving identities.
The musical program is one of the most anticipated aspects, spanning Afrobeats, R&B, soul, hip hop, Afro-house, and tropical sounds. Announced guests include Les Mamans du Congo & Rrobin, Lina Simons, Epoque, Sirlene, Amal Soul, Adriana, ExoEsa, and F3FA, alongside numerous DJ sets and performance projects.
Alongside the concerts, the festival offers a rich calendar of free activities:
CreativAfrica takes place in three locations that reflect Turin's spirit of hospitality and grassroots culture: the social restaurant Jigeenyi on Via Borgo Dora, in the Balon district; Cascina Falchera, an educational farm on the northern outskirts; and Magazzino sul Po, at the Murazzi del Po, a historic hub of Turin's nightlife and music scene. A geography that traverses the city and showcases its most diverse souls.
More than just a series of events, CreativAfrica is a community project that centers on intercultural dialogue and participation. In the Province of Turin and throughout Piedmont, it represents a key reference point for those wishing to explore African and Afro-descendant cultures firsthand, in an atmosphere of celebration, discovery, and shared commitment.
The 2026 edition of CreativAfrica celebrates its twelfth year with the theme "Roots and Sprouts". The program weaves together live concerts, workshops, talks, cooking shows, and performances across three Turin venues: Jigeenyi, Cascina Falchera, and Magazzino sul Po.

The lineup is completed by creative workshops, family ateliers, and meetings dedicated to anti-racism and interculturalism.
