In the heart of the Pisan hills, in Buti (province of Pisa, Tuscany), the Wild Boar Festival is one of the most anticipated gastronomic events of late summer. Organized with passion by the Contrada Ascensione A.S.D., the festival takes place at Parco Danielli over two weekends in August, turning the town into a meeting point for families, friends, and visitors in search of authentic local flavors.

Festival Dishes

The star of the show is wild boar, prepared according to traditional Tuscan recipes. At the food stand, which opens every evening at 7:00 PM, the two signature dishes are:

• Pappardelle with wild boar, featuring a slow-cooked, savory ragù;
• Wild boar in salmì, slow-braised in wine and herbs.

The menu is rounded out with grilled meats and other rustic dishes, all paired with wine and craft beer. In case of bad weather, indoor areas are available, so the party never stops.

Music and Atmosphere

Every evening is enlivened by live music: Parco Danielli becomes one large outdoor dining area where you can eat, chat, and dance until late. It is the perfect opportunity to experience the hospitality of a small village in the Pisan hills and to discover the community spirit of the local 'contrade' (districts), which have kept this tradition alive for years.
