The civic band music festival of Tramin an der Weinstraße at the covered Festplatz
The Bürgerkapelle Tramin Music Festival is the annual celebration of the civic band of Tramin an der Weinstraße, located in the heart of the South Tyrolean wine region in the province of Bolzano (Trentino-Alto Adige). The event takes place in early September at the Festplatz, the town's covered festival square, bringing together locals and visitors for a weekend of Tyrolean brass music, conviviality, and fine dining.
The program follows a long-standing tradition. On Saturday afternoon, the festival kicks off with the Einmarsch, a solemn parade starting from the town hall square and reaching the Festplatz, followed by an evening of entertainment with Tyrolean specialties and local wines. On Sunday, the event continues all day, from morning until late evening, with various guest brass bands taking the stage and festivities for all ages.
The Bürgerkapelle Tramin is one of the most deeply rooted bands in the Bassa Atesina, affiliated with the Verband Südtiroler Musikkapellen (VSM). It is under the artistic direction of conductor Norbert Rabanser. The band accompanies the civil and religious life of the municipality of Tramin throughout the year—from processions and anniversaries to seasonal concerts and Tyrolean patriotic celebrations—and in 2026, it celebrates its 185th anniversary with a special Jubiläumsfest in July, separate from the September Musikfest.
Tramin / Termeno is one of the most famous villages on the South Tyrolean Wine Road, known worldwide for its Gewürztraminer grape variety. The civic band's Musikfest is the perfect opportunity to discover South Tyrolean hospitality, the vibrant tradition of Tyrolean brass music, and the oenological excellence of this corner of Trentino-Alto Adige in an authentic village festival setting.
The Musikfest of the civic band of Tramin / Termeno (BZ) will be held on Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the town's covered Festplatz in South Tyrol. On Saturday, the festivities kick off at 4:30 PM with the traditional parade (Einmarsch) from the town hall square to the Festplatz, followed by a convivial evening featuring Tyrolean culinary specialties and wines from the Wine Road. On Sunday, the program continues from 10:30 AM until approximately 11:00 PM, with various guest brass bands taking turns on stage.
The 2026 edition coincides with the year the band celebrates its 185th anniversary. The detailed schedule with times and guest groups will be published by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event on the band's website and the Tramin tourist portal. Admission is free.
