Wine, food, and music in the historic center of Egna, the opening stage of the national tour through Italy's Most Beautiful Villages.
Borgo diVino in Tour is the itinerant food and wine festival that travels through Italy's most charming villages, transforming them into open-air wineries for a weekend. The Egna/Neumarkt stop, in the province of Bolzano (Trentino-Alto Adige), takes place in the town's refined historic center along the famous Via Portici, one of the best-preserved medieval corners of South Tyrol and a proud member of the I Borghi più Belli d'Italia circuit.
The heart of the event is the tasting experience: over forty wineries from all over the peninsula—including Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto, Piedmont, Tuscany, Campania, Marche, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Abruzzo, Puglia, and Lazio—present more than one hundred labels. There is a strong focus on local signature grape varieties like Teroldego, Müller-Thurgau, and Trento DOC sparkling wines, alongside regional excellence from across Italy. The tasting circuit is accessed via a voucher that includes the tastings, a branded glass, and a glass-holder bag, allowing guests to move freely between the tasting booths.
Alongside the wine, the gastronomic section highlights local flavors: charcuterie and cheese boards, regional fried snacks, pinsa, and traditional Roman dishes, as well as typical South Tyrolean offerings prepared by the village's partner restaurants. It is a perfect opportunity to pair fine wines with local dishes and discover the cross-border cuisine of South Tyrol.
The event enlivens the town center with live concerts on two stages, featuring folk, blues, and Tyrolean sounds. There is also a dedicated space for the little ones, with children's workshops designed to make the event suitable for the whole family. The intimate atmosphere of the arcades and small squares makes Egna an ideal setting for a food and wine stroll.
Access to the event area is free: you only pay for the voucher if you wish to taste the wines, while the food section and concerts are open to everyone. The Egna stop traditionally kicks off the national calendar of Borgo diVino in Tour, which visits dozens of villages across Italy throughout the year.
The opening stage of the 2026 tour took place in the historic center of Egna/Neumarkt on Saturday, April 18 (from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM) and Sunday, April 19 (from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM), as the first of 25 scheduled stops in Italy's Most Beautiful Villages.
The protagonists were over forty wineries from all over Italy with more than one hundred labels for tasting, ranging from South Tyrolean grape varieties to the excellences of Veneto, Piedmont, Tuscany, Campania, Marche, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Abruzzo, Puglia, and Lazio. The tasting voucher cost 20 euros and included eight tastings, the glass, and the bag.
Various musical groups alternated on the two stages, including Dandelion, Bogieman Lewis, Arton Duo, and Seitner Echo, with sounds ranging from folk and blues to Tyrolean atmospheres. The program was completed by gastronomic specialties from the village restaurants and workshops dedicated to children.
Egna/Neumarkt is located on the Bolzano-Trento route, about 25 km from Bolzano. By car, it can be reached via the A22 Brennero motorway (Egna/Ora exit). By train, get off at the Egna-Termeno station, just a few minutes' walk from the historic center.
Free entry to the event area. Wine tastings are conducted with a voucher that can be purchased on-site or online via the official website; the voucher includes the tastings, the glass, and the bag. Gastronomic items are paid for separately at individual stands.
The village is easily explored on foot. We recommend arriving in the morning to enjoy the arcades and tasting booths at a leisurely pace before the evening crowds arrive.
