Three evenings of blind tastings featuring Barbaresco DOCG in the restaurants of the Langhe
Every year, at the onset of spring, the restaurants in the village of Barbaresco and its neighbors—Neive, Treiso, and Alba, all located in the province of Cuneo in the heart of the Piedmontese Langhe—become the stage for one of the most beloved events for wine enthusiasts: Barbaresco at the Table. Organized by the Enoteca Regionale del Barbaresco, this event was established in 1994 and has become a staple of the Piedmontese food and wine calendar.
The heart of the event is the blind tasting of the new Barbaresco DOCG vintage. During each dinner, twenty different Barbaresco wines from the same vintage are served without the diner knowing the producer. It is the best way to understand the vintage as a whole, free from any bias: the names of the wineries are revealed only at the end of the evening. This format has captivated curious newcomers, connoisseurs, and simple lovers of fine dining for years.
Accompanying the glasses is traditional Langhe cuisine, presented through the creativity of each chef: every restaurant crafts its own full menu designed to enhance the structure and elegance of Barbaresco. From great Piedmontese classics to more contemporary interpretations, each venue offers its own take on the territory, allowing the same selection of wines to be experienced in different settings.
The strength of Barbaresco at the Table lies in its widespread nature: the event involves a network of restaurants across the entire production area, allowing you to choose your preferred atmosphere while enjoying the same selection of wines at every location. It is the perfect opportunity to combine a weekend in the UNESCO-listed hills of the Langhe with an evening dedicated to the king of Piedmontese reds.
The 32nd edition of Barbaresco at the Table was held over three Friday evenings in May 2026, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with dinners starting simultaneously for all guests. The star of the show was the new 2023 vintage of Barbaresco DOCG, tasted strictly blind: twenty different labels served each evening, with the producers' names revealed only at the end of the dinner. This edition was part of the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the Enoteca Regionale del Barbaresco.
Every Friday evening, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, at participating restaurants: a 5-course full menu of local cuisine paired with a tasting of 20 different 2023 Barbaresco DOCG wines, served blind. The wine selection is identical in all venues; the cuisine varies according to each chef's creativity.
Vegetarian options were available upon reservation at some venues. Reservations had to be made directly with the restaurant.
