Circus, cinema, hiking and music across the Alpe Cimbra
Alpitudini is the summer event series bringing culture, art, and nature to the Cimbrian Highlands in the heart of Trentino. Launched in 2024, the festival reaches its third edition in 2026, establishing itself as one of the most original cultural highlights in the Trentino mountains. The name plays on the concepts of «altitude» and «attitude»: experiencing the heights not just as physical elevation, but as a perspective, a way of listening, and a form of contemplative solitude.
The festival is itinerant, traversing the three municipalities of Alpe Cimbra — Folgaria, Lavarone, and Luserna/Lusérn — with events hosted in evocative settings such as alpine dairies (malghe), Great War forts, clearings, and forests. Each stop is designed to take the audience out of conventional performance spaces and immerse them in the landscape.
The Alpitudini programme is multi-disciplinary. Contemporary circus opens the season with clowning, acrobatics, and live music. The open-air cinema features «zero-impact» screenings, powered by a mobile photovoltaic system and enjoyed via wireless headphones to preserve the forest's tranquility: documentaries and animated films projected at dusk in forts, cabins, and meadows. Guided hikes, led by mountain guides alongside guests from the worlds of cinema, photography, and alpine wildlife, combine walking, nature, and storytelling.
The programme concludes with concerts that bring live music to the mountains: from string quartets in alpine dairies to singer-songwriter performances. The 2026 edition culminates on 12 September in Folgaria with a concert by Cisco, the iconic voice of the Modena City Ramblers.
Alpitudini is organised by the Superflùo collective — creative dissonances and promoted by the Magnifica Comunità degli Altipiani Cimbri, in collaboration with the municipalities of Folgaria, Lavarone, and Luserna, and the Alpe Cimbra Tourist Board. All events are free, many requiring reservation, for a festival that focuses on sustainability, slow living, and the bond between culture and the landscape of the Autonomous Province of Trento, in Trentino-Alto Adige.
From 3 July to 12 September 2026, Alpe Cimbra hosts the third edition of Alpitudini, a widespread festival of circus, cinema, hiking, and music across Folgaria, Lavarone, and Luserna, in Trentino. All events are free, many requiring reservation.
The opening, from 3 to 5 July at Parco Palù in Lavarone, features the Théâtre Circulaire with clowning, acrobatics, live music, and a workshop for children.
Three evening screenings (9:15 PM) powered by a mobile photovoltaic system and wireless headphones: «Non c'è casa in Paradiso» (9 July, Serrada), «Tony, Shelly e la luce magica» (16 July, Luserna), and «Fémene» by Elena Goatelli (23 July, Forte Belvedere).
Three morning walks (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM) with mountain guide Alberto Caneppele and guests from the worlds of cinema and alpine wildlife, between 10 and 24 July.
22 August: «The 8 Seasons of the Soul» (Vivaldi/Piazzolla) at Malga Laghetto; 12 September: Cisco concert at the Folgaria Ice Rink.
The festival is itinerant across Alpe Cimbra, between the municipalities of Folgaria, Lavarone, and Luserna (Autonomous Province of Trento). Venues change for each event: alpine dairies, forts, mountain huts, and clearings.
All events are free. Many activities (screenings, hikes, concerts) require booking, often via Eventbrite.
Full programme and bookings are available on the Superflùo collective website and the Alpe Cimbra Tourist Board channels.
