A showcase of the mineral world in the heart of Valsugana

The Minerals, Fossils, Meteorites and Costume Jewelry Fair is one of the most well-established naturalistic collecting events in Trentino-Alto Adige. It takes place at PalaLevico, the exhibition center on Viale Lido in the town of Levico Terme (Province of Trento), just a stone's throw from the famous lake and the historic thermal baths of Valsugana. For an entire weekend in September, the pavilions transform into a journey through sparkling crystals, rare minerals, gems, fossils, and meteorites, with ample space also dedicated to costume jewelry and handcrafted ornaments.

Exhibitors and collector's items

The fair brings together about seventy exhibitors from various Italian regions, who set up over one hundred and fifty tables laden with specimens. Alongside the great classics of mineralogy, there are themed offerings related to the local area, such as Trentino agates and fossils found in the Trentino basin. It is the ideal opportunity to buy, trade, or simply admire pieces of great scientific and aesthetic value, from small samples for starting a collection to the most sought-after specimens.

Activities for families and children

The fair is not just for connoisseurs: in recent editions, free workshops for children and teenagers have been offered, including searching for minerals and fossils in the sand, building small fossils, and educational games about the world of paleontology. A simple way to introduce young people to Earth sciences and make the visit suitable for the whole family.

Organization and context

The event is organized by the Gruppo Mineralogico Paleontologico di Trento G. A. Scopoli, an association that has been active for years in promoting and protecting the mineralogical and paleontological heritage of the region. The setting of Levico Terme, between Lake Levico and the hills of Valsugana, adds tourist value to the event: the fair is part of a rich calendar of events that enliven the town and the entire valley, amidst thermal baths, nature, and tradition.
