An autumn festival on the shores of Lago di Cei

Lago di Cei Foliage is the autumn event that the Municipality of Villa Lagarina, in the Vallagarina valley, dedicates each year to exploring Lago di Cei, one of the most picturesque spots in Trentino-Alto Adige. On a Sunday in October, when the woods are painted in warm autumn colors, the lake and the Pra dall'Albi-Cei protected area become the stage for a day dedicated to nature, play, and community spirit.

A day between nature and community

The heart of the event is a free walk along the forest trails, starting from the Capitel de Doera. Along the path, which is suitable for families, participants can enjoy cultural and musical performances, information booths, food stalls managed by local associations, and creative workshops designed for children. The initiative is promoted by the associations of Castellano together with the Vallagarina Family District, coordinated by the Municipality.

Workshops and nature activities

The program highlights the biodiversity and beauty of the local ecosystem through environmental education and guided activities. Among the initiatives developed in collaboration with the Rete di Riserve Bondone are nature workshops such as Leaves under the lens and mycological excursions as part of the Mycoblitz, organized with the Bresadola Association and the MUSE - Science Museum of Trento.

Lago di Cei, the green heart of Vallagarina

Located above Villa Lagarina, in the autonomous province of Trento, Lago di Cei is a small body of water set among meadows and woods within a protected biotope rich in flora and fauna. In autumn, the setting becomes particularly romantic, with beech and birch trees igniting the lake shores in red and gold: it is the ideal moment to experience the foliage typical of the Trentino mountains. The event is free to enter and is designed for all ages, with a strong focus on volunteering and local community participation.
