A series of open-air evening concerts by the Partschins brass band in South Tyrol
The Abendkonzerte of the Musikkapelle Partschins are among the most anticipated musical events of the summer in Partschins (Parcines), a municipality in the Burggrafenamt region nestled on the sunny slopes of the Vinschgau Valley, just outside Merano in the autonomous province of Bolzano, Trentino-South Tyrol. On summer evenings, the local brass band gathers in the Widum-Garten, the garden next to the Haus der Dorfgemeinschaft, to offer residents and visitors a series of open-air concerts with free admission—a tradition that has been part of village life for generations.
The Musikkapelle Partschins was founded in 1818 and is considered the oldest brass band in the Burggrafenamt. Today, it boasts over fifty active musicians and places a special focus on training young talent. Throughout the year, the band accompanies numerous religious and civic ceremonies in the village, from processions to first communions, and is a key participant in events such as the Partschins Advent and the "Tag der Musik" on May 1st. However, the summer evening concert series is when the band presents itself to the public in its most convivial and relaxed form.
The program for the evening concerts is designed for audiences of all ages: marches and polkas from the Central European tradition, classical overtures for brass bands, and modern pieces and light melodies alternate in a friendly atmosphere. It follows the classic formula of an Alpine open-air band concert, where South Tyrolean folk music meets the stage repertoire. The Widum-Garten, located just a short walk from the church square along the Schulmeisterweg, provides the perfect setting for these live music evenings.
Thanks to its location near Merano and along the Vinschgau Valley, Partschins is easily accessible, and the concerts offer a delightful opportunity to combine an evening of live music with the discovery of the Burggrafenamt landscape and its traditions. In case of bad weather, events may be rescheduled or cancelled.
The 2026 series of evening concerts by the Musikkapelle Partschins takes place in the Widum-Garten at the Haus der Dorfgemeinschaft, at Schulmeisterweg 2 in Partschins, in the province of Bolzano. The evenings begin at 8:30 PM and conclude around 10:00 PM.
In Partschins, the band performs on Thursday, July 30, then on August 6, 13, and 27, and September 10, 17, and 24, 2026. The calendar is completed by several evening concerts in the hamlet of Rabland (Rablà). The program features traditional marches and polkas, classical overtures, and modern pieces suitable for audiences of all ages.
Admission is free and no reservation is required. In case of bad weather, individual events may be rescheduled or cancelled.
